Sabrina Delsas
Sabrina completed her B.S. in Chemistry at UMass Boston in 2025, during which time she worked in the Rochford group studying graphitic carbon nitride for COâ‚‚ reduction. Her chemical interests all come down to why and how molecules behave the way that they do, and how that can be used to design systems that respond to external stimuli such as light, whether as photocatalysts for clean energy or light-activated compounds that can be switched on and off to perform entirely different functions! Outside the lab, Sabrina enjoys watching movies, playing the guitar, and memorizing far too many corny dad jokes (they may be a little basic, but they always get a reaction!).

Gavin Simons
Gavin completed his B.S. in Chemistry with a concentration in Biochemistry at Monmouth University in 2024. During his undergrad, he worked in the Moehring/Naik research lab, where he synthesized and characterized high coordination number rhenium polyhydride complexes via NMR spectroscopy and FTIR. His focus was then switched to the synthesis and characterization of organocarbonato complexes for a potential route to cytotoxins. He then went on to work in industry as a raw materials quality control chemist. This role allowed him to work independently on obtaining quantitative data from HPLC and GC to ensure the raw materials put into their products were within the acceptable limits as per FDA guidelines. In his free time Gavin enjoys gaming, watching movies, and building lego.

Ibrahim Mousa
Senior
Ibrahim is working towards his B.S. in Chemistry at UMass Boston, and is expected to graduate in 2026. His interests in quantum chemistry drew him towards the study of photoluminescence. As part of his Capstone project, he is working on hybrid crystalline materials capable of room temperature phosphorescence. His hobbies include playing video games, fishing, and spending time with friends and family.
